I got some great news tonight! As some of you know I work irregular part-time hours for a financial firm, traveling to different offices in the area. A couple of months ago I applied for a nearly full-time (4 days per week) position at my favorite branch, but lost out to an applicant who has twice my age and experience so I really couldn't be offended I wasn't chosen. :b I got a call this evening saying things weren't working out with her and they asked if I wanted the job and I said HECK YES. I'll get to use the skills I studied in college, receive a salary, benefits, a 401k, and I'll always get to work at my favorite branch.
I'm so excited!
What this means for you guys and my corner of DA: Less commissions.
I may open them occasionally but as I'll be making exponentially more than I am now it'll probably be exceedingly rare. I'm sorry to anyone who's disappointed by this!More personal art!
In the absence of commissioned work I'll probably just make what I want! Working 4 days a week I probably won't be producing quite as much as I am now, but I'll still have evenings, weekends, and my day off. :>Maybe more trades?
I've been wanting to do more of these! Once I've officially cleared my to-do list of all owed art I'm going to try and open for a few slots.More commissioning!
I've longed to be able to commission so many of you guys but just haven't been able to justify the expense. I'm finally getting the chance to make this dream come true and I am PUMPED.
This is a good thing. Now I can finally buy fruit and not cry when I check out at the grocery store. :'>
