Based on what you kind lovelies said about the port coming disconnected from the motherboard, I poked around my tablet and discovered the secret panel that everyone knows about that covers the second port. Slid the panel over. Plugged the old USB in the uncovered port that I had no idea existed. Boom, works like it always did. So my tablet is ok! The top port seems to be dead but the bottom one is fresh and new so yay. ;u; My laptop screen is still gross and pixely but I can deal with that. Everything's gonna be alright. Thanks for the advice guys. :'>
Hey peepaleaps. Got some bad news for y'all who are waiting for art (time will tell exactly how bad.)
Yesterday I sat down to get some work done, plugged in my Intuos4, and nothin'. I tried everything but could not even get the light to come on, which has only ever happened once before when the cord I was using broke. I found that if I held the cord just right I could get the tablet to connect and light up like normal, but if you moved a hair it'd flicker right back out again. This made me think it was the cord's fault once again, so I went to Best Buy this afternoon and got a new Mini USB. Except this one doesn't work either. :C Either I got the wrong cord (even though it looks exactly the same?) or the problem does indeed lie within my poor old tablet.
To add insult to injury, when I turned my laptop on today it had huge streaks of stuck pixels running from top to bottom for some reason? I managed to unstick most of them but there are still light, alternating bands across the screen that seem rather ominous. All of my stuff is getting kind of old and I'm worrying I might have to go and replace it all at once. :C
So now I'm not really sure what to do. I'm meeting up with my parents over Eater weekend and my mom usually has a collection of spare cords lying around. I'm hoping she'll have an extra mini USB I can try and see once and for all if it's the fault of the cord. Otherwise I guess I'll ship the tablet back to Wacom and see if they can diagnose the problem? I'd really appreciate some advice if any of you have had problems like these. Either way it looks like I'm stuck for this week at the very least. I'm really sorry for the delay if you're waiting for something from me. For now it looks like I'll be stuck sketching and maybe working on sculpting if I can find a corner of the garbage nest that is my apartment to work in.
